Registration Information

Our Race Registrar asks that you fax your entry before the deadline even if you are not sure you are going to make the race (Registrar: phone and fax number will be posted later: please no calls or faxes after 9pm). It is much easier to delete your entry race day than it is to enter the data and get Timing and Scoring updated and you save the Late Entry Fee. Help keep the Registrar's job easier and the Registration lines short and swift.

Entry deadlines for the 2008 season will be posted on Race announcements If you do not pay via the mail, you can pay while registering with cash, check, Visa or MasterCard without any handling fee.

Entry Fees and at-track Registration Times are in each Race Announcement (these are the same documents you receive in your ICSCC paper or on-line Memo). Canadian Entries Fees are stated in Canadian Dollars, must hold Canadian Drivers License. 1 free crew pass with Friday tech.

Race Entry forms are available at the ICSCC web site and in your ICSCC newsletter.

Transponders:

All IRDC and ICSCC races are timed and scored with the AMB Transponder System. This requires you to install a 9 volt battery or 12 volt car powered transponder sender on your car. If you decide not to buy a transponder (~$300-$350) you can rent one for the weekends you need them (~$30 a weekend). ICSCC has a limited number for rent, but either Registration or Driver Services for each Club putting on the race handles the renting of the transponders (ICSCC rental form), too some private vendors and some clubs have them for rent.

Test and Tune

Test and Tune Days are offered by Pacific Raceways. Fees are paid directly to them and are not part of your race entry fees. Contact Pacific Raceways for fees and registration information (current fee - as of September 2008 - is $200). Gates open at 8am, first car out at 9am. Track closes between 4 and 5pm depending on what evening events the track is holding or County Ordinance. Dollar values are subject to change.

Their on-line schedule does not get updated often so sometimes one that is scheduled is cancelled, but more often one is added that doesn't make it on their schedule. Check the Conference Forum for discussions or last minute additions, and call or email Steve Caputo (253-639-5927) at Pacific Raceways to confirm or register.

Annual Techs

Annual Techs are given by volunteers who have been approved by the Steward and host club. Annual Techs are free and offered at each ICSCC race, most Driver's Trainings, and many Driver Education/Track Days, or any other scheduled time throughout the year.

Check with the organizing club to be sure they are offering Annual Techs at the non-race event you are planning to attend. The roll bar stamp may be available but even if it is not, you can still complete an Annual Tech, then get the roll bar stamped and the log book sticker at a later time before your first race. In the meantime don't lose the completed tech form.

Though a car has passed an Annual Tech, you still have to present your personal safety gear and car log book to a tech inspector every race weekend. In addition, any weekend you drive in the last ICSCC race group you must present the car and your personal safety gear during the normal tech hours posted in each Race Schedule.

IRDC members approved to conduct annual inspection: Walt Julian (206-372-0180), Dave Bennitt, Ken Dye and Jeff Clark (but only on car that they have not prepared).

Heads up for Novices and new car owners

If you are building a car that is not yet complete still consider getting an Annual tech even if you are not driving in that event (if it is a race weekend you could complete some of your Race Worker requirements). You can find out what on your car would fail, then have time to make repairs before your first race weekend. Tech only inspects for Safety Rules Violations.

The Stewards and Drivers competing in the classes you will eventually upgrade to, police Class Rules. Novice races are not broken down into separate classes beside Closed and Open Wheel groups, so Class Rules Violations, if mentioned at all during tech, are only a heads up on what to legalize, if you choose, before your potential upgrade weekend, your third race weekend if all goes well.
