From: Dave & Carol Haire Subject: It's YOUR club, and IRDC Needs YOUR Participation !!! As you know, IRDC counts on its members taking an active part in participation in all aspects of our club. As the 2012 race season comes to an end, we have numerous important positions opening in 2013 and we would appreciate your consideration in volunteering in one of multiple critical IRDC positions opening up in 2013. The following IRDC positions are available in 2013. IRDC Race Chairman: The Race Chairman is responsible for coordinating each IRDC race event. Duties include coordinating IRDC needs for each race event with the appropriate track (Pacific Raceways and The Ridge Motorsports Park). The Race Chairman prepares the IRDC race announcements & schedules. The Race Chairmen contacts the appropriate volunteers prior to each race event. The Race Chairmancoordinates with ICSCC officials (ICSCC Stewards, ICSCC Novice Director, etc.), volunteers, and racers to provide a safe race event. This position will have multiple veteran Assistant Race Chairman in 2013 providing valuable assistance to the new IRDC Race Chairman. The IRDC Race Chairman is allowed and encouraged to race during an IRDC race weekend. Interested members are welcome to assist and view the position first-hand during the September 29th-30th IRDC Race at Pacific Raceways. IRDC President: The President presides at meetings of the membership and of the Board of Directors. In the name of the Club, the President signs all written contracts and obligations of the Club; and is an ex-officio member of all committees of the Club; exercises general supervision over the business and affairs of the Club and at the Annual Awards Dinner of the membership. IRDC Vice-President: In the absence or inability of the President to perform the duties of office, the Vice President performs the duties of the President. In the event the Vice President is called upon to fill the office permanently he/she will finish the President’s term of office. Board of Directors (2-3 positions available) The Board of Directors hold meetings once monthly, to conduct the business of the club. The Board of Directors consists of the 5 elected officers (Pres, VP, Past President, Treasurer, Secretary), plus 4 Member-at-large positions (1 - Worker-Member, 2 - Members-at-large, 1 - Driver- member). The 4 Member-at-large Board of Director positions are for a two-year term, with 2 positions expiring each year. One position coming is for a current active worker-member of IRDC (Race Marshall), who will also serve as the representative to the Board for the volunteer Race Marshall community. One additional position is available in 2013 to usurp the position of a current Director who is needing to vacate his/her position due to a family emergency with one year left in his/her term. Radio/Communication Specialist: The Radio Specialist is responsible for all IRDC race communications equipment. This shall include keeping the equipment in good working order and in place at the track for all IRDC events. The contact person for the rental equipment shall be the Radio/Communication Specialist. Website Editor: The duties of the Website Editor are to maintain the website as needed by the President and Board of Directors. When necessary the Website Editor will install, update or change the website as necessary. Marketing Chairperson: The Marketing Chair shall be responsible for handling public relations functions of the Club. The Director shall submit IRDC race announcements to the various media (i.e. newspapers, television, radio) and coordinate other activities to promote the club and its events.
